Sue Willmer
I take my inspiration from my surroundings at home in Norfolk and extensive travels. I have no formal training in art but have taken opportunities available to work with and learn from a number of experienced, well established professional artists.
I like to explore every aspect of the environment and enjoy challenging my abilities when finding previously untried subjects and media. I am constantly striving to achieve work that is impressionistic rather than truly representational. Although I work mainly in oil and watercolour I also use mixed media, pastel and acrylic ink if the subject seems as though a better result can be achieved that way.
My work is exhibited in various locations in East Anglia and has been shown at the Mall Galleries. I also have paintings bought by private collectors in Europe, Australia and S.Africa.
I teach a group of enthusiastic amateur artists near my home.
