Diana McKenna

Education :-  Cambridge Art School (Art foundation) and Camberwell School of Art (degree). Post Grad Art Teacher Certificate at Brighton school of Art.

Teaching:- I worked for about twenty years as a Lecturer in art and design at the
School of Art Anglia Ruskin Cambridge, in the Art Dept Cambridge Regional Collage and the Art Dept. Long Road Sixth form College.

I have loved drawing and working with materials since early childhood. Over the years I have worked in many different areas of the art world :- as an examiner for art and design at O and A level, printed textile designer, photographic picture researcher, model maker for advertising and architects, and a painter of fairground animals (steam engine galloping horses and cockerels).
I love working from observation and draw my inspiration from the natural world and travelling overseas. I work with a variety of materials and techniques, at the present time I am enjoying working on Lino cuts and collagraphs of native and overseas birds.
I have been fortunate to be able to visit many places in my travels, including Tanzania, the Amazon Jungle and the Atacama desert in Chile. I enjoy teaching and encouraging people to explore materials and ideas to develop their own style and find their own voice.
