Black Dog Arts has its foundations in the concept of equality of opportunity and embodies it in all aspects of the organisation – the use of accessible and familiar community venues, open membership, an affordable membership subscription and charging policy for its events, activities, projects etc two Child Protection Officers on its Management Committee etc. It will continue to strive to ensure that no-one who may benefit from its activities will be knowingly or otherwise excluded.

Black Dog Arts will endeavour to ensure that everyone involved with the organisation (Management Committee, members, paid personnel etc) is familiar with this equal opportunities statement and strategy, and is encouraged to put it into practice and is aware of the need to challenge harassment or discrimination if or when it is encountered.
Failure to follow this Equal Opportunities Policy will be considered Gross Misconduct and anyone found guilty of this will have their membership terminated.

- By ensuring that personnel are selected on the basis of suitability and that no paid personnel are excluded because of age, disability, gender, race or sexual orientation:
- By avoiding the presentation of any work that is racist or sexist or would contravene the equal opportunities statement in any other way
